Martin J Aversa passed away on May 15, 2019 at the age of 87 years. Loving husband of 68 years to Claire ( nee Daly). Devoted father to Kenneth (Phyllis) and Joyce Giordano (Thomas). Adoring "Pop-Pop" to Alyson, April, Danielle and Anthony. Dear brother to Tina Walker.
Martin was a decorated Korean War Veteran and Bronze Star recipient. He was active in community service including Auxiliary Police, Little Neck Civic Association, Little League and a soccer coach. Past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Council #5911 and Chairman of District Deputies of Brooklyn and Queens. In addition, he was a St. Anastasia Church Head Usher and Blood Drive organizer for 42 years.
Martin enjoyed gardening, golf, wood working and spending time with family. He will be dearly missed.
