On November 26th, 2019 , at approximately 9:30 pm, Antoinette Sansone passed away at Long Island Jewish Hospital. She was 88 years old.

Antoinette was born in Brooklyn, NY on January 10, 1931. Her parents were Frances and John Leo, and her siblings were Joseph and Florence Leo.
On April 24, 1955, Antoinette married Onofrio Sansone. They had three daughters, Frances Chesnulovitch, Angela Turello and Gina Nocco and were married for forty nine years.

Antoinette was passionate about food, and knew how to work miracles in the kitchen.Together with her husband, she grew various vegetables, including tomatoes for many years in a garden they cared for themselves. Antoinette used the garden and her cooking expertise to make exceptional meals for her family. Grandma could be counted on to bring a surprise baked macaroni or eggplant parmigiana dish over that would feed everyone for at least a week.

In addition, she was an incredible seamstress. For instance, when one of her granddaughters, Adriana Nocco was in the fifth grade and needed a period appropriate dress to wear for her school's Civil War Encampment event, Antoinette made a dress and bonnet for her from scratch. Ann would always rush to the aid of anyone in need of a clothing repair, no matter how daunting the task. That was Ann; always there to help her loved ones mend anything that might need mending (clothing or otherwise).

An avid churchgoer, Ann was also a member of the Sacred Heart Senior Club.

Ann is survived by two of her daughters, Angela and Gina, as well as her grandchildren, Adriana Nocco, Paul Nocco, Christina Turello and Alessandra Nocco. They remember her as one of the strongest and most independent people they've ever known.

"All you need to do is one thing, get one thing done each day. That's all. One step at a time."
