Alice Bambrick Fucigna passed away peacefully on January 12, 2018 at the age of 89. Alice was born in Ozone Park, Queens, New York on June 11, 1928 to her parents Mary and James Bambrick. Alice was the youngest sister of 2 brothers- Gene and Jimmy. Alice completed St. Joseph's College in Brooklyn and became a copy editor at J. Walter Thompson Advertising Company in New York. It was there she met her future husband, Thomas F. Fucigna, an advertising
executive. They were married in 1957 and had 3 children prior to moving to London, where Tom had been transferred with J. Walter Thompson. They lived in London for 3 years and upon returning to the United States, moved to Douglaston where their 4th child was born. As a longtime resident of Douglaston, Alice was deeply involved in the community. She raised her four children at home. Alice was then employed by Pan American Airlines in Manhattan, and later became a tutor at the Queensborough Community College Writing Center. She was also an active and avid member of the Douglaston Little Neck Historical Society. Alice was a lifelong swimmer, reader, and writer and often could be found perusing the New York Times, reading a book, dashing off a letter, or helping one of her children edit a term paper. Alice was predeceased by her husband Tom, her parents, James and Mary Bambrick and her brothers James and Gene Bambrick. She leaves behind her 4 children- Thomas Fucigna Jr., Allyce Fucigna, Margot Newbold, and Gillian Langton, and 6 grandchildren- Elora and Isabella Fucigna; Delaney, Shane, and Dillon Langton; and Christian Newbold.

A gathering after the Memorial Mass on Saturday, January 20th will be held at the family home 4 Kenmore Road , Douglaston, N.Y. 11363.
